How to Make Melt & Pour Soap
Purchase your supplies. First things first, you need to purchase your supplies. These include your melt & pour soap base, any essential oils or food coloring you’re going to use, and a silicone mold for shaping your soap.
There are a number of different bases you can choose from, including glycerin, Castile, goat milk, and more. Do a little bit of research and pick the one that’s best for you.
Heat the base. Now that you have your supplies ready, you’re going to heat the base following the directions on the package. Since there are different soaps, it’s best to follow the directions recommended by the manufacture.
Pour the base into the mold. After heating your melt & pour soap base to the recommended temperature, turn off your stove to let it cool for about 15 seconds. Then you can add in any essential oils or food coloring that you picked out before pouring your soap into your silicone mold and letting it sit for 24 hours.
Cleaning up
One of the best things about making melt & pour soap is that it’s easier to clean up after yourself as opposed to other soap making alternatives. Just take your pot and add some water to it and let the soap sit before rinsing it clean.
If you’ve added essential oils and/or food coloring, you may want to pop it in the dishwasher after rinsing it out. Otherwise, you’re good to go. And in just 24 hours, you will have your very own melt & pour soap to share!
