I opened an obituary for Dorothy Ann Bramon Brandon expecting to meet a life. Instead, I met a loading screen. That feels almost too perfect for the age we live in. A woman is born on August 25, 1943. She makes it through more than eight decades of history, private joys, family complications, ordinary Tuesdays, changing fashions, rising prices, new technologies, old arguments, and whatever mysterious collection of triumphs and disappointments belongs only to her.
