Joan Collins and the Unexpected Joys of Target: A Day to Remember

Let me set the scene for you: It was a sunlit Saturday morning. The air was humming with weekend optimism, and I, with a latte in hand, decided to do a little shopping at Target. You know, just the usual weekend activity of buying things I never knew I needed until I walked into those wide aisles.

But that day was different.

As I strolled down the home goods section, deliberating over which cushion could potentially change the entire vibe of my living room, a voice broke through the muzak, unmistakably refined, unmistakably British, unmistakably... famous?

"That's a rather chic cushion, isn’t it?”

Turning around, there she was. Joan Collins. THE Joan Collins. Dame of the British Empire, an iconic actress from Dynasty, and, as I was about to discover, a lover of Target's home decor section.

I couldn’t help but gape. "Joan Collins? Shopping at Target?!" It was a sentence I never thought I’d form. But there she was, in all her glamorous glory, holding a faux fur throw in one hand and a set of gold-rimmed glasses in the other.

"You seem surprised," she laughed, a twinkle in her eye. "Darling, everyone needs a good deal now and then. Plus, where else can you get fabulous décor, trendy outfits, AND snacks all in one place?"

We chatted for what felt like hours. Joan confessed her love for Target's eclectic mix of stylish and affordable items. She had a knack for mixing high-end pieces with bargain finds, making everything look effortlessly glamorous - a talent I deeply envied.

She held up a set of velvety hangers, exclaiming, "These! These are marvellous. And they don't let my sequined blouses slip."

Who would have thought? Joan Collins, the epitome of luxury and old-school Hollywood glamour, was just as thrilled by a good deal as the rest of us. It was a beautiful reminder that joy can be found in the simplest of places, whether it's a Hollywood gala or the aisles of Target.

We parted ways at the checkout, but not before snapping a selfie – with her in those oversized sunglasses, and me, still in utter disbelief. It was, without a doubt, the best Target run ever.

The moral of the story? You never know who you'll run into during a casual shopping trip. So, the next time you're in Target, keep your eyes peeled. You might just have a star-studded encounter of your own.

PS: Joan, if you're reading this, thanks for making my day. And yes, the cushion was a fabulous choice. 😉🎯🌟
